A donation can become a warm meal on a child’s table, fuel for a family struggling through winter, or treatment for a patient hoping to recover. Sometimes it becomes the prayer of someone we have never met; sometimes it quietly answers the need of a family living beside us.
At the Önce İnsan International Association of Women and Children Solidarity, we regard every donation entrusted to us not merely as financial support, but as a trust that must be protected and delivered to its rightful recipient. In Türkiye and across the regions where we operate, we act according to verified need, urgency, accountability, respect for human dignity and the donor’s stated intention.
A general donation is a contribution entrusted to the Association without being restricted to a particular project, country or type of assistance. It allows us to respond to the most urgent and pressing verified needs.
General donations may be used for emergency relief following war, natural disasters, hunger, poverty or forced displacement. They may also support food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, education, clean water and winter assistance programmes. Where necessary, they may cover essential transportation, storage and field-delivery costs, provided that such expenditure complies with the donor’s intention, applicable law and the Association’s governing rules.
The greatest strength of general assistance is that it enables us to act without losing critical time. After a disaster, hours may matter for a hot meal; days may matter for a child awaiting treatment; and even a single evening can feel unbearably long for a family unable to bring food home.
We deliver general assistance to people in need without discrimination based on language, race, colour, religion or sect, according to verified needs and established priorities.
Entrust your donation without restricting it to a particular field, and we will direct it to where the need is greatest and assistance is most urgent.
Sadaqah is any voluntary act of giving performed sincerely for the sake of Allah, to relieve hardship and support someone in need. It has no fixed time or minimum amount. Everyone may take part in this act of goodness according to their means.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Charity does not decrease wealth.”

Sadaqah entrusted to the Önce İnsan Association is used to meet the essential needs of vulnerable families, including food, clothing, shelter, healthcare and education. Through your Sadaqah, we support orphans, elderly people living alone, families experiencing financial hardship, patients and people affected by war or natural disasters.
For us, Sadaqah is not merely an amount transferred from one person to another. It can relieve a mother’s helplessness, allow a child to attend school with the necessary supplies, provide medicine to a patient or remind a person who has lost hope that they are not alone.
Regardless of its amount, every sincere Sadaqah can touch a life and help goodness grow.
Zakat is not simply a voluntary donation. It is one of the fundamental acts of worship in Islam, a financial obligation that purifies wealth and strengthens solidarity within society.
Allah Almighty says:
“Take charity from their wealth in order to cleanse and purify them through it.”
Surah At-Tawbah, 9:103
The eligible recipients of Zakat are not determined by personal preference; they are defined in the Holy Qur’an. The Önce İnsan Association records and allocates donations specifically entrusted as Zakat separately from general donations and other income. These funds are delivered only to verified individuals who are eligible to receive Zakat under the categories set out in Surah At-Tawbah, verse 60.
Zakat donations are not transferred into the Association’s unrestricted general budget and are not used for publicity or activities that do not meet the religious conditions of Zakat. They are distributed as cash or in-kind assistance in a manner that transfers ownership to the eligible recipient, in accordance with the applicable Islamic principles.
Priority is given to people living in poverty, families whose income is insufficient to meet their essential needs, people overwhelmed by legitimate debt, stranded travellers and other verified recipients who are religiously eligible to receive Zakat.
During every distribution, the recipient’s dignity and privacy are protected. Their identity, image or hardship is not exploited for publicity.
Zakat purifies the wealth of the giver, eases the burden of the recipient and builds a bridge of mercy, responsibility and brotherhood between people.

If no description is provided, the contribution will be recorded as a general donation unless the donor subsequently gives a different instruction.
It is particularly important to write “ZAKAT” in the payment description. This enables the donation to be recorded separately and delivered in accordance with the religious requirements governing Zakat.
We believe that no sincere act of goodness is insignificant. A meal placed on a family’s table, a notebook given to a child, medicine delivered to a patient or a stove warming a home can become a life-changing expression of compassion.
