Saliha is a mother who, like thousands of others who have faced the most brutal face of war, was forced to leave her country. To keep her children safe, she sought refuge in Türkiye and settled in a shantytown with her four children. However, although the arduous journey of migration is behind her, her struggle is not over here.
Saliha has four children, and her youngest has a congenital heart condition. She constantly has to go back and forth to hospitals for her child's treatment. This situation has exhausted her both physically and emotionally. While dealing with the surgical procedures, she also struggles to take care of her other young children.
In this busy and challenging life, Saliha did not have a washing machine, one of her most basic needs. With limited resources, while trying to meet her children's needs, a washing machine could have greatly eased her life. That's exactly where the "First Human" Association stepped in. With the support of our benefactors, we took action to meet Saliha's need and provided her with a washing machine.
Today, the happiness on Saliha's face is transforming into the joy of her children. As you can see in the photos, the smiles of the children playing with balloons are actually a message of hope for all of us. Because easing a mother's burden and bringing even a little happiness into children's lives is the most beautiful form of kindness.
Saliha's story tells us so much about the brutal effects of war, a mother's resilience, and the healing power of solidarity. Being able to support her during her difficult life became the most concrete example of being a part of a bridge of kindness.
Let's continue working together to bring more hope!
Let's stand by the oppressed and make lives better together. Because goodness grows when shared.
